Wow, the saying 'When it rains it pours' always seems to be true when it comes to tidbits on any Stacie Orrico new-ness, and it appears 2012 will be no exception. Thanks to SoS-er Daniel Brownrigg we've got a BRAND NEW set of photos published this year (yup, that's right, 2012!) so they're as new as you could want. Stacie's good friend Bess Friday took these stunning shots a few days ago in New York, and on her website it mentions that Stacie is preparing for a New York showcase. SO, TO ALL OUR FELLOW NEW YORK STACIE STANS - keep your eyes peeled and your ear to the ground and see if you can catch this showcase (if it hasn't already happened). Happy 2012 So Stacie friends! Hope you had a lovely Christmas (listening to Stacie's 'Christmas Wish' album I hope!) and wishing you all the best for the year ahead. It's been a while, but we finally have a BRAND SPANKING NEW behind-the-scenes photo of Stacie in a new photoshoot thanks to the amazing Christopher Kuehl - she's looking absolutely radiant, and I'm loving the look of this shoot! We've seen Stacie do a few photoshoots over the past few years that we've hoped were for a new album, but so far we haven't been so lucky. BUT we always live in hope, so fingers crossed! And I thought I should also mention I've been getting a few e-mails in regards to what Stacie has been up to - the source that claimed to be Stacie turned out to be a fake (thanks to Stacie's close friend and an all-round legend Chris Cannon Mapp for clearing that up for us, we had our suspicions!), so at this stage we know FOR CERTAIN that Stacie IS still working on new music, and she is VERY grateful for our continued support. So, hang in there Stacie stans, and I'm positive our patience will be rewarded before too long.

I've been doing a bit of Stacie collecting lately, and thought I'd share with you my recently acquired new treasures! First cab off the rank is my Japanese Special Edition of 'Christmas Wish', which includes a cardboard cover with the (There's Gotta Be) More To Life single artwork, and tracklisting-wise, contains The Christmas Song and What Are You Doing New Year's Eve. Secondly is my 'So Simple' promo single, which only has So Simple on it, and is in a cardboard case. And the one I'm most excited about is my copy of the EXTREMELY hard-to-find US/Canada version of 'Beautiful Awakening'! I absolutely adore the artwork of this edition, and I've always wanted to own it and now I can finally say I do :)

So get to it and release some new material ASAP Stace so I can expand on my already very healthy-looking collection hehehe.. ;)

Hi everyone! I've returned from my holiday in Japan to find an e-mail from none other than the lovely Miss Orrico herself! She would like to thank you all for your amazing continued support over the years, and revealed that new music is indeed on its way! In the US, this new music is looking to be released along with a relaunch of Beautiful Awakening too, so all the US fans who missed out on the Beautiful Awakening era can get pumped! Stacie said the new album will be a continuation of where she left off from Stacie Orrico and Beautiful Awakening and that a record deal inking is foreseeable in the very near future. Most of all, Stacie assured us fans that music is and will always be a part of her life, whether it be singing, writing or producing for other artists. So, with that, let's all hear a big "HIP HIP HOORAY!!" and stay tuned to So Stacie for further news on the return of our favourite singer!!

Whilst we wait in anticipation for someone to upload a video of this exciting event, we have some lovely photos with Stacie looking absolutely drop dead gorgeous! Enjoy!

Hi everyone! Just over an hour ago singer Brendan McCarthy posted a *blurry* photo along with the following tweet - "Stacie Orrico rehearsals- loving her new tunes, @Rachael_Lampa backing her- best friends singing together again-"
Yup, that's right. The words "Stacie Orrico" and "new tunes" were mentioned in the same sentence! :D Now, of course knowing the amount of false alarms we've had before over the years I don't want to get y'all too excited, but this is looking quite promising all the same. Stay tuned to So Stacie for more updates as they come in!

Oh, and by the way - I would like to express my appreciation for the people who've been e-mailing me recently expressing their support and encouragement for the So Stacie website, as well as their ongoing interest in Stacie's music - I'm so grateful to have you guys supporting this site, and hopefully as long as there are glimmers of hope that Stacie will return to make amazing music for us, this site will continue :) So thank you!

Wow, how time flies! And for us Stacie fans, we know that more than ever - so hard to believe it's been 5 years since we've had an album from our gal! Hope everyone is all well. Dropping by to wish Stacie a belated 25th birthday for the 3rd of March (hey, at least I'm not yet a month late!) Hope she had a wonderful day surrounded with family, friends and loved ones.

The second reason for this update is to bring your attention to a lovely article written in the Christian publication Cross Rhythms, which is counting down 'The Spirit of Rock And Soul' - a countdown of the 1001 greatest recordings of Christian artists. Coming in at no. 339 is the little-known Stacie Orrico song 'Truth', off her 'Say It Again' EP!

But what is most heartwarming is the article accompanying the acknowledge:

Update & an open letter to Stacie

Hi everyone :-)
If you've tried visiting So Stacie lately, you will have noticed the domain had expired. After much to-ing and fro-ing over the matter, I decided today to renew it for another year. HOWEVER, if Stacie still chooses to not let us know what is happening with her musically after this year, I will have no choice but to terminate the website. Financially, I can't keep investing in this website if it's essentially supporting an artist that no longer wants to be acknowledged and admired for her wonderful music.

Don't get me wrong, I will always love Stacie and the incredible music she has given us, from Genuine right through to the few tracks we've had since Beautiful Awakening, like Knock 'Em Out and more recently Act Like You Know. But I know with the news that the stunning 'Light Years Apart' which all Stacie fans had anticipated to be on Stacie's upcoming record was evidently given to another artist, a slump in fans' enthusiasm has been rather apparent.

So; DEAR STACIE - if you read this, or if anyone who knows Stacie personally reads this; on behalf of Stacie Orrico fans across the world, we'd be SO grateful for you to update us in some form, whether it be on your MySpace (www.myspace.com/stacieorrico), official website (www.stacieorrico.com), or via direct e-mail to this fansite (staciesbday@gmail.com) or ANY other medium (Twitter, YouTube etc.). Even if it is the indecision you are experiencing, the excitement over still working on an upcoming album, or the choice to not continue a career as a singer. NEW STACIE ORRICO!

Yep, you read correctly! It may be a feature effort, but we have a hot little track by the name of 'Act Like You Know' featuring Stacie's powerhouse vocals. The song is by an independent Christian reggaeton artist by the name of Flow Celestial, but the majority of the song is Stacie's. I'm keen to hear your thoughts! I think the reggaeton sound is the perfect road to go down following the beautiful R&B nature of 'Beautiful Awakening'. Hopefully we'll hear more music news soon! But in the meantime, enjoy the track!

UPDATE: It appears that 'Act Like You Know' may in fact be Stacie's song after all. Songwriter Damon Sharpe has listed a writing credit with Stacie Orrico for 'Act Like You Know', as well as three other songs titled 'Gifted', 'Let It Go' & 'Jump The Gun', which look like they were all written during the 'Beautiful Awakening' era (see comments thread). But, the fact that 'Act Like You Know' has only just been released might mean Stacie has kept this and maybe a few others of the 50+ tracks recorded for Beautiful Awakening for a new record - fingers crossed!

According to French music news website Musique Radio, Jayms Madison is currently working with Stacie Orrico on her new album! Here's what the (roughly translated) article had to say:

"In the same musical family as Chrisette Michelle, this Jamaican born starlet in the United States and fan of Prince is the Pick of freshly unearthed by the team of Music-radio.com. So people are speculating the new Stacie Orrico record is to be out May-June 2010, and supposedly Stacie's been signed to a new record label.

Novel (who's worked with Stacie on her self-titled and Beautiful Awakening record) has tweeted that he wanted to get in touch with Stacie, saying:

"@CourtneyJ725 3days ....YO! You got Stacie Orrico contact ...tell her to hit me up while im here...i lost it."

So hopefully something comes of this, as Novel and Stacie have made some amazing stuff together!

1. Dallas, one of the hardest working Stacie music investigaters (:-P) has been informed via a music industry connection that Stacie has indeed been signed by a new label and is working on her new album.

2. Just a couple of hours ago, music news blogger Josh Vinaixa has Twitted that "It's Official" that Stacie Orrico is working on music for her new album, with a tentative release date for May 2010!

The first of the two tweets seems like Stacie may be on a new mixtape, which would be a perfect way to give us all a taster of album number four! The second tweet is beautiful, and not surprising - we all know what a lovely person Stacie is, but it's great when people acknowledge Stacie's kind personality and amazing talent!

Hi So Stacers! Thanks for bearing with the lack of updates this month - I've been under the pump with A LOT of uni work and others stresses, and as a result, I haven't had any time to update, BUT, the load has freed a bit until the main end-of-year exams start, and I'm pleased to be filling you all in with some pretty cool stuff:

1. French Stacie Orrico fan site http://www.orrico-news.com/ is reporting that a source close to Stacie, named Kevin, revealed that Stacie is putting the final touches on her new album, and is waiting for a new recording contract to release the music. I really hope this news is true, and hopefully Stacie will confirm for us on her official website the latest on her new musical endeavours.

2. A YouTube video has sprung up from 'Stalactic7' requesting Stacie to return to the music industry, and inviting fellow fans to make similar videos. A link to the video is below, and I really encourage y'all to get involved with this, and show Stacie our support for her possible return.

So, as we still wait to hear from the "horse's mouth" (as put by Soundwavve earlier this year), we anticipate all the news we've been hearing to be true, and hopefully our favourite soulful songstress will grace us with her wonderful new music very soon!

P.S. I also realised it was three years ago TODAY that I got the extraordinary chance to spend a day with the wonderful Miss Stacie Orrico! It was a day I'll never ever forget - I got to watch Stacie do a whole lot of interviews with various media, then had lunch with her, followed by a trip to a television studio to hang out with her there - Stacie is one of the most sincere, genuine people I've ever met. She's a lovely, stunning woman with a beautiful soul - I still pinch myself to think I was able to spend some time with her. :-)

Have German punk-rock band Jennifer Rostock been caught out for plagiarising Stacie's hit song 'Stuck'? The band released their new single 'Du willst mir an die Wäsche' this year, and listeners have picked up on the strikingly similar melody to the 2003 mainstream debut from Stacie. So, we were all a bit worried there with that previous post, weren't we! Well, never fear - the hard-working Dallas has got confirmation from recording studio buddy Cannon (see the Million Miles Away video) that Stacie music should be coming our way soon!

So, StacieWorld.org is back online! Yay! Stacie World is a great Stacie fansite :-) StacieWorld got into contact with Kevin Zavier, from Creative Jenius, about the Light Years Apart (Million Miles Away) track, and doesn't bring us the news we were really looking for...:

"Stacie is not working on a new album it was a recording session to add vocals for a song which will probably be proposed to another artist."

While this is very sad news, it is also conflicting with what we've found out prior to this - remember, we got into contact with Jarvis Church a couple of months ago, who confirmed that she WAS working on a new record.

So, don't lose hope, fellow Stacie fans - hang in there, and we'll see what happens! :-)

Very unfortunate news today - 'Oz the Musical', starring our very own Stacie has been cancelled due to financial difficulties! Very sad to hear! That means that USA Stacie fans will have to wait just that little bit more longer to see her perform.

I'll keep you updated on any developments with this story, but if this is definitive, then it looks like Stacie will hopefully have some time up her sleeve to concentrate on the new record :-)

Courtesy of Dallas (you're THE MAN!), an interview with Tristate from Tristate Inventory Productions has surfaced on YouTube, dated in January this year - in the vid, Tristate mentions working with our girl Stacie, Jayms Madison and Cannon on a song, that was shopped to Ciara - I think he said the name of the song was 'Right'!
I really hope that Stacie will keep this song for herself, as Ciara obviously didn't take it because it's not on her new album 'Fantasy Ride'...
I'm really eager to hear this track - I reckon it'd be hot, as most of Ciara's songs are real uptempo R&B tracks.

Korean MTV Talent Show contestant sings 'Strong Enough'!

In Korea, MTV is hosting a talent contest, and from what I can garner from the badly translated article, is called 'Kara'. The contestants must take on various missions and perform mini-concerts each week in order to be saved from elimination. This week, one of the contestants sang Stacie's beautiful self-written ballad 'Strong Enough', and received rave reviews for her performance!

Hi all! I've got quite exciting news for y'all! A while ago I got into contact with Jarvis Church telling him how much we loved the duet he did with Stacie Orrico, and whether he knew when a new album was coming out from Stacie. I've just received a reply, in which Jarvis very kindly has let us know they're working on her new album right now!

With 'Light Years Apart' being a little taster of what's to come, and Lady And A Tramp also confirming that she's in New York recording, I cannot wait for album number four! Apart from 'Do For You', the duet Stacie did with Jarvis last year, Jarvis and friend Brian West (known as Track & Field production team) also produced the title track from Stacie's stunning 'Beautiful Awakening' album!

I LOVE the soulfulness of Beautiful Awakening! This is fantastic news, and I can't wait for album number four!!!

Hey everyone! It's good to be posting updates finally haha!

Thanks to Dallas and YouTube, we've now found out that 'Light Years Apart' - the HOT song that Stacie has co-written and was seen singing in the studio is in fact a demo recording. Brandon Beal revealed that while Stacie has co-written the song with Cannon Mapp, it is not decided who the song will go to.

I'm 100% sure I speak for all of us when I say I want the song to stay as Stacie's song. If you feel the same way, and think that 'Light Years Apart' should be a part of Stacie's upcoming fourth album, feel free to comment on the video on YouTube to show your Stacie support!

Musician and producer Brandon Beals has just posted a insanely awesome video of Stacie in the studio working on new material with Cannon Mapp - the song is tentatively titled 'Light Years Apart'. The video shows Stacie singing LIVE in the studio, and you would swear that it's a final production - it really shows just how amazingly talented our Stacie is!

Hey everyone! I've made a new layout to give the blog a bit of a facelift! Hope you like it!

No new Stacie news has come our way, but hopefully we'll hear some more developments on Stacie's possible upcoming collaboration with music industry wiz Onree Gill!

Also, I believe that although Stacie parted ways with Virgin Records in 2007, she may still be signed under the EMI Music label. The reasoning for this belief is that the www.stacieorrico.com website is still up and running, whereas if Stacie was no longer associated with them, her site would have been closed down.

Hi all! So, the votes are in and 'White Christmas' wins the competition for the most popular song from Stacie's 'Christmas Wish' CD! New Album Release Confirmed?

Despite the fact we haven't received any concrete news in AGES, Jesusfreakhideout.com is reporting that Stacie is indeed releasing a new album INDEPENDENTLY in 2009! Apart from this, nothing else has been said, but let's keep our eyes open and fingers crossed and hope that we hear some more on this potentially very exciting news!

You voted, and it looks like 'Is It Me' would've been the choice for the 3rd single for Beautiful Awakening - good choice guys, it's actually one of my most favourite songs ever!!

Sadly there has been no other Stacie news on the horizon at all! Every day I search for any clues as to what she's up to, but alas I have come to this post empty handed!

But let's not give up - Stacie is for so many of us our inspiration and mouthpiece for our feelings and emotions through her songs. I am sure that whatever Stacie is up to at the moment, she is having a great time doing it, and hopefully it won't be long before we hear some exciting news!

Beautiful Awakening: Re-awakened

Hey So Stacers! So I popped on 'Beautiful Awakening' this morning just after I woke up and I had a 'beautiful awakening' (pardon the pun!) - 'Beautiful Awakening' has always been one of my most favourite albums of all time, but it has been a month or so since I'd listened to it from start to finish - this morning I did, and I was 're-awakened' to the absolute beauty and hope that the album illustrates - it truly is a masterpiece album.

So, I urge you, if you haven't put 'Beautiful Awakening' on and just relaxed and listened to it the whole way through in a while, do it today - you might have a 'Beautiful Re-Awakening' like I did! :-D

So I've been doing a bit of Stacie research, and it seems that this latest duet with Jarvis Church may not be so out-of-the-blue! Jarvis Church is signed to Track & Field Records, an Indie label of EMI Music - funnily enough, Track & Field Records is name-checked as a publisher for Stacie's stunning title track for the wonderful 'Beautiful Awakening'! Just thought you might find that interesting - maybe Stacie IS still signed to EMI Music in some way....?

P.S. I'm starting to REALLY LIKE 'Do For You' now - I think it just took me a while to get into it because it's not really what I was expecting! But I think I still like 'Knock 'Em Out' better - it's more Stacie's style, in my opinion! What do you guys think?

Hey hey all! So the results from our last poll are in, and you thought that the American/Canadian version of 'Beautiful Awakening' was the best cover! The European/Australian version came in at second, and the Japanese version third!

We have a new poll now, while we're eagerly waiting for some new Stacie news - what do you think should've been Stacie's third single off of Beautiful Awakening? Dream You managed to gain some airplay on a few radio stations around the world after So Simple was released, but Stacie also hinted at Is It Me being a single with a preview music video being released. However, Easy To Luv You did seem to be a favourite of hers to perform! Or do you think it should've been one of the other great songs from Beautiful Awakening? You decide!

Since Creative Jenius has pulled down signs of Stacie's partnership with the company, there has not been much news at all - once again it seems like we're a bit left in the dark at the moment!

But what us Stacie fans have learnt is that what we get is always worth the wait - I'm sure Stacie's busy working on a great follow up to the stunning Beautiful Awakening album! :-)

Hi guys! So sorry I've been away for a while - I've been flat out!

So, thanks to http://www.stacieworld.org/ and http://www.orrico-news.com/, we have news AND photos of Stacie's appearance at a technology showcase in Germany. Stacie is looking absolutely amazing!

Still no word on a new record label or anything yet - however, it looks pretty definite that Stacie has left Creative Jenius.

Operation Stacie-pedia!

I've been thinking - Stacie's Wikipedia page is rather bare in comparison to other musicians' Wiki-pages! So, I propose we do a bit of a clean-up on it - including a photo of her!

If you have a look at Avril Lavigne's Wikipedia page, for example, each album era has it's own section. It would be great if we could do that for Stacie's, don't you think!?

Anyway, this is usually a very busy time of the year for everyone - I know I'm over my head with uni assignments as well as work and church commitments, but hopefully together we'll be able to make Stacie's Wikipedia page the hottest page on Wiki!

Has Stacie left Creative Jenius???

Hey guys - at this stage, this post is purely gossip and assumption, but it may be that Stacie has parted ways with Creative Jenius Music! Stacie signed on to the management/promotion company after leaving Virgin Records, and was included on the artist roster on the company's official website. However, as of today, Stacie has been taken off the artist roster!

As I said before, THIS IS NOT FACT - THIS IS PURE SPECULATION, as Stacie is still mentioned as being a part of Creative Jenius Music on their MySpace page (although it is undergoing construction).

So, as I have said, this may not be true at all!!!! We'll have to wait and see...

Hey all! So sorry for the lack of updates - there hasn't been too much to report! I hope you've all gone to YouTube to check out all the Stacie videos from Singfest!

An article from the New Straits Times in Malaysia popped out a beautiful little article about the highlights of Singfest, and no surprise, our girl Stacie was the first act to be mentioned, Hafidah Samat writing:

"Grammy-nominee star Stacie Orrico impressed the crowd with her mostly upbeat R&B numbers."

Samat continues further to say that, "Orrico proved her mettle and was well-received by the energised crowd at the festival."

I've only heard amazing things about this gig from Singfest, and judging by the videos on YouTube, Stacie is in top form! I wish I was there!

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to track down any media from Stacie's whirlwind Japan tour, but if we keep our fingers crossed, I'm sure something will come soon!

So, while we are patiently awaiting some media from Stacie's whirlwind tour through Japan, I thought I'd let you know that Stacie has been included on the 2008 World Youth Day Soundtrack, entitled 'Receive The Power - Songs Of Faith'! World Youth Day was held in Sydney this year, and thousands of pilgrims flocked to see the Pope - so the fact that Stacie has been included as a theme song of this momentous event is quite special! Stacie's beautiful '(There's Gotta Be) More To Life' was included on the soundtrack! Other artists that appear include Stacie's good friend Rachael Lampa with her song 'Blessed', Switchfoot & Amy Grant! To view the Cd and it's tracklisting, click here.

Summer Breeze Festival Cancellation/Stace Kicks Off Japan Tour!

Good news and bad news, everyone! Start with the bad: the 1st Summer Breeze Festival has had to be cancelled due to low ticket sales - very disappointing! I'm sure there'll be many sad Stacie fans! Other artists ticketed to have performed at the festival were One Republic, Panic At The Disco and Simple Plan. Ah well, maybe next year!
But in GOOD news, Stacie has well and truly kicked off her Japan tour!!! Going to Osaka, Fukuoka and Tokyo, our favourite gal has been rockin it in Japan's Billboard Live Arenas! I'm anticipating some media from the concerts coming our way soon!

*Completely off-topic haha* I saw The Dark Knight for the second time again yesterday...it is the best movie EVER! Have any of you seen it? What did you think?
